Who I AM

I am a self-taught mixed-media artist from Greensboro, North Carolina, and the creative mind behind Tactile Canvas. My love for art began as a little girl, watching my mother and other members of my family bring ideas to life through paper and canvas. Creativity has always been a part of me.

Although my career path led me in different directions for a time, I eventually found my way back to what I truly love—creating art. The name Tactile Canvas reflects my passion for texture and dimension. I believe art should not only be seen, but felt. Through acrylic paint, modeling paste, moss, fabric, hair, flowers, everyday objects, and other unexpected materials, I transform ordinary elements into pieces filled with texture, emotion, culture, and story.

My journey has not always been easy, but every challenge has helped shape the artist I am today. I dedicate this journey to my parents, who were two of my greatest believers. Although they are no longer here physically, I continue to honor them by pursuing the dream they always encouraged me to follow. Every canvas, every exhibition, and every new opportunity carries a piece of them with me.

My work has been showcased with Black Girl Art Show in Atlanta and Chicago in 2025, followed by Brooklyn, Dallas, and Washington, D.C. in 2026. My artwork is currently being exhibited at the Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts through November 6, 2026, and I am preparing for CultureCon on October 3–4, 2026, followed by Black Girl Art Show Chicago on October 25, 2026.

Through Tactile Canvas, my goal is to continue creating work that celebrates Black culture, womanhood, music, nature, history, healing, and the beauty of self-expression—one textured canvas at a time.
