Rooted in Him
24 × 36 inches | Mixed Media
Rooted in Him marks my first male moss portrait and expands my nature-inspired series in a new direction. Created with layered moss, textured greenery, butterflies, and botanical details, this faceless portrait celebrates Black masculinity through growth, strength, calm, and connection to nature. The moss-covered hair, beard, and clothing turn the figure into a living landscape—grounded, evolving, and beautifully rooted.
